Using Reminders

Reminders are designed to keep you organized and on track without forcing you to juggle multiple apps or mental checklists.

The Reminders section in Jobodex helps you:

• Track time-sensitive tasks related to job opportunities
• Stay consistent with follow-ups and networking outreach
• Prepare for interviews and research ahead of key milestones
• Centralize all job-related reminders in one place

Reminders can stand alone or be linked to a specific job opportunity, giving you context about why the reminder exists—not just when it’s due.

Default Reminder Types

Jobodex includes several built-in reminder types to help categorize and organize your reminders. These types are provided by default and cover the most common job-search scenarios:

• Task: general to-do items related to your job search.
• Follow-Up: used to remind you to reconnect after an action or event.
• Research: designed for reminders that involve learning or preparation.
• Deadline: used for hard, time-sensitive dates.
• Networking: focused on relationship-building and outreach.
• Interview: designed specifically for interview-related preparation and logistics.

Customizing Default Reminder Type Colors

Each default reminder type is assigned a default color. You can customize that color in App Settings. To customize a default event type color:

1. In the “Reminder Type Colors” section tap the color button next to the event type to change the color
2. Open Jobodex
3. Navigate to App Settings (the icon in the lower, left corner)
4. In the “Stay Organized” section tap Reminder Settings

Syncing Reminders with the Apple Reminders App

Jobodex can optionally sync your reminders with Apple’s Reminders app, allowing you to see and manage job-related reminders alongside your personal ones.

To Enable Reminder Syncing:

1. Open Jobodex
2. Navigate to App Settings (the icon in the lower, left corner)
3. In the “Stay Organized” section tap Reminder Settings
4. Tap the Sync Jobodex Reminders with Apple Reminders toggle
5. Grant permission for Jobodex to access the Reminders app

Once enabled:

• Jobodex can create and manage reminders in Apple Reminders
• Reminders stay linked to your job data inside Jobodex
• You can receive system-level notifications and alerts

Reminders App Sync When Using Multiple Devices

Permission to sync Jobodex Reminders with the Apple Reminders app must be explicitly enabled on each device where Jobodex is used.

Syncing is Optional

Syncing is optional. If you prefer to keep everything fully contained within Jobodex, you can use reminders without enabling Apple Reminders integration.

A Note on Control & Privacy

Jobodex only syncs reminders you create—it does not read or modify unrelated reminders in your Reminders app. You remain in full control, and syncing can be disabled at any time in App Settings.
