Jobodex App Privacy Policy

Introduction

Jobodex is designed to help you track job opportunities, organize your employment history, build tailored resumes, and manage related tasks in a secure and private way.

This Privacy Policy explains what data the app collects, how it’s stored, and how it’s used. Jobodex does not sell your data, track you across other apps, or use third-party analytics.

Data We Collect

Jobodex stores the information you create or import while using the app. This includes:

  • Job leads and job descriptions
  • Employment history
  • Skills and summaries
  • Interview logs and contacts
  • Job reminders and calendar events
  • Notes and attachments
  • Imported resume files

No personally identifiable information is collected beyond what you choose to enter into the app. Jobodex does not use any third-party analytics SDKs.

How Your Data is Stored

Jobodex uses Apple’s CloudKit to store and sync your data securely across your devices using your Apple ID.

iCloud / CloudKit Storage

  • All user-generated data (job leads, resumes, notes, files, etc.) is stored only in your private iCloud database.
  • Brettrospective and its developers cannot access your CloudKit data.
  • Apple encrypts your data in transit and at rest.

On-Device Storage

Some data is stored locally on your device for performance and offline access. This includes:

  • Resume parsing text
  • Temporary extraction data
  • Draft edits
    Local data never leaves your device unless iCloud sync is enabled.

Resume File Parsing

Jobodex allows you to import PDF or text resumes to help populate your employment history.

How Resume Parsing Works

  • Resume files are processed entirely on your device or through Apple Intelligence on-device capabilities.
  • Jobodex does not upload your resume to external servers.
  • The imported text is used only to generate structured data for your job history and resumes.

File Retention

  • You choose whether or not to save imported files in the app.
  • Parsed text is stored in your private iCloud database only if you save the results.

Share Extension Data Handling

Jobodex includes a Share Extension that allows you to import job postings from Safari, LinkedIn, and other apps.

What the Share Extension Receives

  • The URL you share
  • Page title
  • Snippets of text you deliberately select
  • Metadata provided by the host app or website (e.g., LinkedIn, Indeed, USAJobs, etc.)

How Share Data Is Used

  • Data is used solely to create or populate a Job Lead in Jobodex.
  • No data from the Share Extension is sent to external servers.
  • All data stays on-device or in your iCloud private database.

Jobodex is designed with privacy first:

  • No third-party servers
  • No developer-controlled backend
  • No external analytics
  • No tracking ID, cookies, or fingerprinting
  • No sharing or selling of your data
    Your data stays entirely on your device or your private iCloud account.
    Brettrospective and its developers have zero ability to view or extract your data.

Subscription and Billing

Jobodex offers auto-renewing subscriptions and optional one-time purchases.

Billing

  • Payments are charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
  • Apple manages all billing through the App Store.

Auto-Renewal

  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.

Free Trial

If you begin a free trial, it automatically converts to a paid subscription unless canceled before the trial ends.

Refunds

  • Refund requests are handled exclusively by Apple via reportaproblem.apple.com.
  • The developer cannot issue refunds or override Apple’s billing policies.

Children’s Privacy

Jobodex is not intended for children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Security

Jobodex relies on Apple’s built-in encryption and security measures through iCloud and CloudKit.
Your data is protected by:

  • End-to-end encryption
  • Your device’s passcode/Face ID/Touch ID
  • Apple’s secure authentication system

Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated to reflect new features or legal requirements. Updates will be posted on the Jobodex website.
