When a job opportunity is imported or shared into Jobodex, the app automatically scans its job description to identify detected skills.
These skills help you understand the hard and soft skills required for the job opportunity and instantly show where the skills you’ve already identified match the skills necessary for that role.
Detected skills make it easier to see how well your experience aligns with the job and where there may be gaps worth developing before applying.
How Detected Skills Are Identified
Jobodex uses a built-in on-device language model to analyze the text of each job description.
The model looks for keywords and phrases that represent hard skills (like “Swift,” “Photoshop,” or “Data Analysis”) and soft skills (like “Leadership” or “Attention to Detail”).
This analysis happens entirely on-device to protect privacy — no information ever leaves your device.
Detected skills are then displayed as color-coded chips in the Detected Skills section of the job opportunity.
Where to Find Detected Skills
Detected skills appear in the Job Opportunity detail view, just below the job description. Each detected skill is displayed as a chip showing the skill name and a set of quick-action buttons.
You can review these right after import or revisit them anytime by opening the job lead.
How to Review and Manage Detected Skills
Each detected skill chip includes four action buttons, allowing full control over how Jobodex treats that skill.
These actions make it easy to build and maintain a clean, accurate skills library that reflects real strengths and priorities.

| Always Ignore This Term | Permanently blacklists the term across all future imports. Jobodex will no longer detect or suggest it again, helping eliminate irrelevant or noisy matches. | |
| You Have This Skill | Indicates that the skill is already part of the personal skill library. No action needed — it’s automatically recognized and linked to this job. |
