Documenting Hard and Soft Skills

Jobodex helps capture the full range of abilities that make up a career — from technical expertise to personal strengths.

Documenting both hard and soft skills builds a clear, searchable record of your strengths.

Adding a Skill

Skills are managed in the Skills & Experience section of Jobodex.

When adding a new skill:

  • Jobodex suggests terms from the skills list included with the app to help you.
  • Choosing whether the skill is a hard skill (technical or teachable ability) or a soft skill (interpersonal or behavioral strength) helps Jobodex align your skills with job opportunities you import.

Where Skills are Used in Jobodex

Your documented skills can be assigned to entries in both the Resume Summary and Work Experience sections to help you create a unique resume for a specific job opportunity.

About the Built-In Skills Library

Jobodex ships with a baseline skills library designed to give every user a solid starting point.

This curated set includes more than 500 pre-defined skills spanning major professional categories and industries.

Examples of included categories:

  • Technology & Engineering – programming languages, frameworks, and technical tools
  • Design & Media – creative software, production tools, and visual communication
  • Business & Marketing – analytics, communication, and strategic management
  • Education & Research – instructional methods, data literacy, and documentation
  • Healthcare & Life Sciences – clinical practices, analysis, and patient care
  • Operations & Logistics – project management, workflow, and systems coordination

Each built-in skill is tagged as either Hard Skill (specific, teachable abilities) or Soft Skill (interpersonal and behavioral strengths).

The baseline library ensures consistency when adding new entries or importing job descriptions — so Jobodex recognizes common terms across industries right away.
